The client for this award winning addition/remodel built the original home as a vacation house in 1969. Over the years their family has grown and their children have children of their own and the vacation house has become their permanent home. Asking for a new master suite, living and dining room, their intent was to use the original home as a guest house. The design created a new entry at the link between the two sections of the house. The owners were interested in breaking down the mass of the addition, which is larger than the original, into pieces that have the look of having been added over time.
